The brief
Brief
The Slovak government fire and rescue service is the national fire service operating from a network of regional and district depots across the country. Field response, training exercises and flood and emergency deployments all require containerised support that can be lifted, stacked and trucked to the site at short notice, then lived in and washed down for the duration of the operation.
Tanax Containers has supplied ISO container units to the Slovak fire and rescue sector across a multi-year supply, covering sanitary blocks, laundry units, material transport, septic tanks, potable water and fuel tanks, and platform containers. Each unit ships under one livery and one warranty regime so the service can pool the fleet across regions without specification drift.
Scope of delivery
Scope
Sanitary fit-out
WC cells, showers, washbasins, electric water heaters, ventilation, PN-HD 60364 low-voltage electrical.
- Engineering review of field-deployment requirements and per-call-off layout drawings.
- Material procurement under EN 10204 3.1 traceability.
- Fabrication on the welding line under EN ISO 3834-2 production-level qualification, feeding the EN 1090-1 EXC2 chain.
- ISO 1CC corner casting placement and stack-load verification at QA gate.
- Hot-dip galvanising of the undercarriage and structural exposed steel for long outdoor service life.
- Sandblasting to ISO 8501 Sa 2.5 followed by two-coat paint, exterior in fire-service livery RAL 3000.
- FARO Arm Prime 10 geometric inspection on every unit, per-unit handover dossier and multilingual operator manual.
- Delivery on CMR to the receiving depot, with a 24-month warranty on the fleet.
Specification
Specification
The dominant build under the programme is a hot-rolled steel frame with ISO 1CC corner castings (20 ft footprint, stackable in transit and on site), 1.6 mm corrugated body and a hot-dip galvanised undercarriage for outdoor stationary service. The exterior is finished in RAL 3000 fire-service red over Sa 2.5 blast and a two-coat paint system to C3 corrosivity per EN ISO 12944. End doors are EPDM-sealed double cam-locking; the floor is marine plywood on hot-rolled cross members for sanitary loads.
Sanitary and laundry variants carry sealed wet-room finishes, gravity and pressure drainage, electric water heaters and mechanical ventilation, with the electrical install built to PN-HD 60364. Material transport variants are bare ISO bodies with reinforced lashing points. Septic, water and fuel tank variants are welded as integral tanks inside the ISO envelope with the corresponding fittings, sight gauges and venting. Platform variants are flat skid bases on the same ISO 1CC footprint for crane loading and stack-and-go staging.
Welding qualification: MAG 135 to EN ISO 9606. Robotic welding handled by 2× Daihen FD-V8L on a 14 m track and a Daihen FD-B6L 6-axis. Plasma cutting (3 to 15 mm) and CNC laser cutting (TRUMPF TruLaser 3040, 3.2 kW, max 20 mm) feed the line. Geometric inspection is closed out on the FARO Arm Prime 10 before paint.
In depth
Outcome
Units delivered across the programme. One livery (RAL 3000), one warranty regime (24 months), one set of corner castings (ISO 1CC) and one undercarriage spec (hot-dip galvanised) across sanitary, laundry, transport, tank and platform variants. The fleet is pool-interchangeable between regional and district depots, stacks and trucks under the same handling drills as standard ISO freight, and is rated for the outdoor stationary service life expected of a national fire service.
This programme sits alongside our Slovak government defence work as a second pillar of the Tanax public-sector portfolio, and is the explicit reference for our public security and fire and rescue positioning.
